How to play Solar Flare

Solar Flare sets the brick-breaking classic on the surface of a star. Five rows of plasma cells burn at the top of the screen.

Controls and rules

Move the paddle with the mouse, with a finger, or with the Left and Right arrow keys. The further from the centre the ball hits the paddle, the wider its angle. Losing the ball costs one of 4 lives.

Scoring

• Each hit on a plasma cell gives 15 points.
• Upper rows are stronger and need more hits.
• Clearing a zone starts a new one with a faster ball.

Tips

Sharp angles are useful for reaching the last cells in the corners, but they are also harder to return. Switch back to centred hits when only a few lives remain.
